SAME Honolulu actively mentors and builds professional relationships between Post members and students majoring in engineering and related programs at local colleges and universities. In addition, we help in exposing and introducing students to job opportunities in military engineering.
A key mission of SAME is to ensure that there are future generations of engineers to defend and build our nation. We accomplish this through our college outreach and youth programs – building relationships between Post members and students – and establishing Student Chapters to mentor young engineers.
The Honolulu Post is proud to have two Student Chapters at the University of Hawaii – The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Pi Tau Sigma, the mechanical engineering honor society.
We partner with our student chapters by providing mentoring and networking opportunities to link students with our sustaining members, develop joint community service and fundraising projects, and work to assist in the professional development of the students.
For more information about any of our student chapters, please contact Iris Terashima at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 808.551.3485.
